5 Minutes with Kecia Jones...
Kecia began her career as a stay-at-home Mom handling in-home day care as her children grew up. As her children got older she decided to look for a job outside the home. She picked up a newspaper and found an advertisement looking for a dental assistant – no experience needed. She applied and got the position because she was a farmer’s wife. The dentist thought she must be a hard worker. That she was, she worked hard for them for 2 ½ years. When the dentist retired she moved her career to SBA; a firm who handles insurance claims. Kecia worked for SBA and now CRS for the past 17 years handling claims.
Family is very important to Kecia and has been all her life. As a child, her family spent time together at Buckskinning rendezvous. When someone attends a rendezvous they will see participants who portray mountain men, American Indians, traders or others who might have lived between 1800-1840 in the mountains and plains. As her family grew they progressed from rendezvous to ATV racing. Kecia’s family, including her grandchildren, participates in the racing events. If her family members are not racing they are assisting building the track or towing vehicles during the race.
If Kecia was stranded on a tropical deserted island she would like to have the following three items with her…
- Bucket for water
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Flint and steel for making fires
As you may have guessed, Kecia enjoys the show Survivor and wants to help the contestants with their marksmanship and endurance skills.
