Deb Anderson, Sr. Liability Claims Specialist, holds over 33 years of claim handling experience. Anderson has been with Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) for 3 years and specializes in automobile and general liability claims on various levels. Prior to CRS, she worked at another insurance company for 30 years as a multi line claims adjustor.

On a daily basis, Anderson handles claims in a timely manner and works closely with staff or outside counsel to investigate and formulate a plan to assure effective resolution and claim settlement options. In addition, she updates appropriate parties as needed and informs them of their impact upon the liability analysis.

An active member of the community, Anderson volunteers her time at church and coaches Special Olympics soccer with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and reading.

Mike Long Mike Long
Mike Long has been a leader at Creative Risk Solutions since January of 2007. He holds 18 years of claim handling experience working for independent claim adjusting companies, mutual Insurance Companies and Third Party Administrators.

Long’s prior work experience includes field investigations as well as inside supervision of injury and property claims. His primary focus has been automobile liability, first party property and general liability claims.

In addition, Long works closely with the insureds in 8 Captive groups and several self insured and large deductible insureds. He handles or supervises claims from the first report of loss to final closing, utilizing BEST practices to insure fair and prompt claim handling.

A graduate of the University of Iowa, he holds a degree in Financial Management. Long has completed the Insurance Institute of America (IIA) Certificate of General Insurance, received the Life Office Management Association (LOMA) FLMI designation, Casualty Claim Law Associate (CCLA) designation and the Senior Claim Law Associate (SCLA) designation.

Mark Vesey Mark Vesey
Mark Vesey holds 21 years of casualty litigation experience which he gained while working with three of the largest insurance carriers in the country. His insurance background includes being a Director of a Complex Claim unit handling the administration of complicated coverage, liability and damages issues for claims with minimum exposures in excess of $150,000. His current title of Sr. Litigation Specialist allows him the opportunity to devote his past claims handling experience to Creative Risk Solutions most difficult cases.

Experienced in the management of stringent cost containment programs, Vesey has created several indemnity and litigation management programs designed to reduce overall expenditures for our clients. He has been a supervisor in both Commercial General Liability and Workers’ Compensation venues and is well versed in the areas of problem solving, Alternate Dispute and Conflict Resolution programs.

A graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Vesey has completed several insurance claim’s law, coverage, negotiation and mediation courses and seminars throughout his career and is currently pursuing a CPCU designation.

Ashley Arp Ashley Arp
Ashley Arp’s expertise in claims administration and marketing makes her an invaluable asset to the Creative Risk Solutions team. Arp takes a proactive approach when it comes to claims analysis, offering the best in client satisfaction and solutions.

Specializing in the critical claim areas, Arp is responsible for setting up auto liability, general liability, and workers’ compensation events. Because of her attention to detail, Arp also assists adjustors with medical and lost time claims.

Arp first started her career in 2009 in the marketing department where she coordinated the development of various marketing campaigns, internal newsletters, brochures, and postcards. Her ability to deliver results on her projects was quickly noticed and she moved to claims administration where she now assists both departments.

Graduating in 2008, Arp earned her B.S. in Marketing from Iowa State University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, working out, and being outdoors.

Thom Kling Thom Kling
As a Database Analyst, Thom Kling is the go to person for all system reporting and technical needs for Creative Risk Solutions (CRS). Kling has worked at CRS for 2 years, and is continually researching ways to keep the claims system as efficient and customer friendly as possible from a technological perspective.

Prior to CRS, he performed troubleshooting for company specific software, hardware and network issues for multiple companies. Kling holds experience working with a vast number of insurance specific applications and is knowledgeable with business intelligence applications.

Kling completed his Microsoft Network Engineer certification at Hamilton College. In addition he completed four years of study for his B.A. in Music.

Outside of work, Kling enjoys working with cars and recently rebuilt a Camaro.

Karma Kelly Karma Kelly
Karma Kelly joined Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) as a workers’ compensation insurance claims adjuster in 2007. She brings with her 24 years of experience as a multi-line claims adjuster and jurisdictional expertise in the states of Iowa and Illinois. Kelly works from the Davenport, Iowa office location.

Prior to CRS, she worked for another TPA for 16 years and an Insurance company for six years. Both jobs allowed her to gain valuable insight into claims handling, conducting liability scene investigations and providing arbitration in claim liability disputes. She was also responsible for supervising adjuster and clerical staff while maintaining a full case load.

Kelly is a graduate of St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa. She was on scholarship all four years of her college career playing volleyball, basketball and softball.

Outside of work, Kelly coaches girls bowling for Bettendorf High School while her husband coaches for the boy’s team. She also coaches for her daughter’s traveling USAV club volleyball team. In addition, Kelly participates in two bowling and two volleyball leagues per week. She enjoys traveling with her family, spending time with friends and attending theatre productions.

Lolita Barker joined Creative Risk Solutions holding over 18 years of insurance experience. Eight of those years were spent managing claims. Barker specializes in managing workers compensation claims for Captive members and serves as their advocate throughout the claim process.

She holds a degree in Criminal Justice from Governors State. Barker also has both her P & C and Life/Health Producer License. She has successfully completed 265 requisite continuing insurance education hours.

Rick Krois, Senior Liability Claims Specialist, holds over 23 years of claim handling experience for both commercial and personal lines. Currently, he is responsible for handling Commercial, General Liability, and Auto Liability claims.

On a daily basis, Krois investigates coverage, liability and damages. He works closely with staff, claimants and insureds to formulate a plan to assure an effective claim settlement option. In addition, Krois manages a few litigation claims in which he develops a plan with staff and counsel to assure efficient resolution and satisfaction to customers.

Krois earned his Bachelor’s degree in General Studies from the University of Iowa. He also holds his Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in Customer Service (ACS) and Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) designations.

Outside of work, Krois enjoys spending time with his family, reading and sports.

Jane Pratt Jane Pratt
Jane Pratt holds over 35 years of experience in the insurance industry. Twenty two of those years were spent handling or managing claims. Pratt joined Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) in 2002 as a Sr. Claim Administrator and was promoted to her current position as Unit Claim Manager in 2007.

Pratt’s initial training was with The Hartford and she successfully completed the entire coursework in all lines of insurance. She holds Associate in Claims (AIC) and Senior Claim Law Associate (SCLA) designations.

In addition, Pratt is a member of the leadership team for CRS, working to expand opportunities for the company, and is also responsible for overseeing all aspects of the claim handling throughout the U.S. She holds jurisdictional expertise in the following six states: Iowa, Colorado, South Dakota, Illinois, Missouri and Kansas.

Outside of work, Pratt enjoys golf, travel and spending time with friends. In the past, she served as President of the Central Iowa Claims Association, secretary of Waveland Women’s Golf Association and past officer of the West Des Moines Elks.

Craig Reutter, Liability Claim Specialist, has managed claims for over 37 years. Seven of those years were spent working at Creative Risk Solutions (CRS). Prior to CRS, Reutter worked for an adjustment company for 30 years.

Reutter’s responsibilities revolve around investigation and evaluation of professional liability claim files. On a daily basis, Reutter interviews insureds, claimants, witnesses and obtains preliminary expert opinions. In addition, he analyzes overall claim activities and keeps the Claims system data up-to-date.

Outside of work, Reutter enjoys spending time with his grand-daughter.

Holly VanRoekel, Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Administrator, brings with her many years of claim handling experience for a variety of businesses. Whether it’s handling claims for health care providers, trucking firms, large and small general contractors, construction companies, bricklayers, concrete, grocery stores or various municipalities, she has the expert know-how to pro-actively handle claims and manage risk.

On a daily basis, VanRoekel assists claim professionals and injured workers with several aspects of claim management. She handles claims at all levels of exposure, including lost time. VanRoekel holds her Associate in Claims (AIC) and Senior Claim Law Associate (SCLA) designations.

Outside of work, VanRoekel enjoys spending time with her family, pets and working in her yard.

Tracey Zirbel, Senior Workers’ Compensation Administrator, holds 15 years of national workers’ compensation claims handling experience. Zirbel is the lead adjuster for the Golden Rule captive and handles both medical only and lost time claims.

Zirbel is a graduate of the University of Iowa. She earned her bachelor’s degree in General Studies with an emphasis in business and art. In addition, Zirbel obtained her Associate in Claims (AIC) designation in 1999. She continues to attend educational seminars and symposiums to remain up- to- date on developing issues.

Millicent Stevens Millicent Stevens
Millicent Stevens holds over 23 years of experience in claims management. She specializes in the administration of workers’ compensation claims. Stevens has worked for multiple insurance companies and joined Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) in 2003 as a Sr. Claims Administrator.

Prior to CRS, Stevens gained her claims expertise by working in a variety of positions such as commercial property claims, as a personal lines adjuster, adjuster supervisor, Senior claim representative for self-insured accounts, and finally, a senior claim administrator.

Stevens earned her B.S. degree from Florida A&M University. Her initial formal workers’ compensation training took place at Northbrook Insurance where she attended a two week training course in Northbrook, Illinois. She is currently pursuing her Associate in Claims (AIC) designation. In addition, she holds her adjuster licenses in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Outside of work, Stevens continually attends seminars to keep abreast of developing issues.

Megan Stafford has managed claims at Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) for over a year. She specializes in setting up Auto Liability, General Liability and Workers’ Compensation claims and events. In addition she is involved in maintaining policy renewals, entity maintenance and other various office and Riskmaster System tasks.

Prior to working at CRS, Stafford worked for Independent Forensic Investigations Corporation. She is also a recent graduate of AIB College of Business for Judicial Reporting. Her speedy typing skills aid Stafford in the prompt entry of claims.

Outside of work, she enjoys golf, basketball and watching movies. Stafford is married and expecting her first child in July.

Gina Duffy Gina Duffy
Gina Duffy joined Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) in 2005 and holds 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. She began her career in 1984 in a clerical position and was later promoted to an adjuster. Currently, she serves as a Claims Administrator for the workers’ compensation unit.

Duffy manages claims at all levels of exposure from minor to catastrophic. She deals with all the professionals involved with a claim such as; physicians, legal counsel, nurse case managers and other medical providers. Duffy handles claims in the seven following jurisdictions: Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, South Dakota, Nebraska, Michigan and Kentucky.

Outside of work, Duffy enjoys travel, camping and spending time with her family. She is also co-leader of a 4-H group, enjoys volunteer work and being active in the community.

Kim Clemens holds 23 years of claim handling experience, working directly for insurance companies and third party administrators. Her primary focus is workers’ compensation claims; however she does have some prior experience in property and casualty claims. Clemens works closely with employers to ensure aggressive return to work procedures as well as handling heavily litigated claims, while utilizing best practices to ensure fair and prompt claims handling.

Clemens has worked in the Insurance Industry since high school graduation and has completed several courses and attended numerous seminars regarding workers’ compensation laws. She is also a licensed Workers’ Compensation Adjuster in the state of Minnesota, and has prior experience working with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Teri Sporer Teri Sporer
Teri Sporer is President of Creative Risk Solutions (CRS). Sporer has spent the majority of the past 24 years working with alternative insurance products and services. She has spent many of those years working as a leader and manager in the claims and risk management services area of the insurance industry. She also served as a consultant for many companies on alternative ways for them to finance their insurance risks.

In 1985 Sporer began her career in Human Resources and after five years transitioned into the insurance arena. She went to work for a third party administrator managing workers compensation claims and providing loss control services. Sporer has worked with many industries throughout the years. Her major focus was in long term care, construction, transportation, retail and municipal housing.

Sporer was promoted to President of CRS in July 2009 after having served as Vice President at Innovative Captive Strategies since 1999. CRS managed claims for the majority of Sporer’s captive customers. She has been involved in developing Risk Management solutions for captive companies since 1996.

A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Sporer earned her B.A. in Management, with an emphasis in Human Resources Management. She received her Professional in Human Resource Management (PHR) designation in 1991, and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation in 2003.

An active member of the community, Sporer has served on the convention committee for the Self-Insurers Institute of America and on the Workers’ Compensation and Employee Benefits committees for the Iowa Association of Business and Industry.

Lynn Pelisek joined Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) in 1997 and holds over 22 years of claims experience. Currently, she serves as Unit Claim Manager and on the CRS leadership team. Her specialization lies in the administration of workers’ compensation claims.

Pelisek began her career in 1987 for a Property and Casualty Company as a workers’ compensation specialist. In 1997, she served as the workers’ compensation claim coordinator for Central Iowa Health System. During this time, she also provided claims services to CRS part-time. Pelisek became full-time at CRS in 1998 and began work adjudicating workers’ compensation claims for large clients.

She earned her bachelor’s from Iowa State University, and has completed outside classes such as an Advanced Workers’ Compensation course in Hartford, CT. Pelisek has earned the following designations from the Insurance Institute of America: Certificate in General Insurance (INS), Supervisory Management (SM), Associate in Claims (AIC) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).

Outside of work, Pelisek continues to attend seminars to stay up- to-date on developing issues and has also presented at several workers’ compensation seminars throughout Iowa. She served on the program committee for the Annual Workers’ Compensation symposium in 2004 and is active in local civic groups.

Connie Darr Connie Darr
Connie Darr holds 17 years experience involving the support of both workers compensation and liability claim handlers. Darr is currently a Support Unit Manager at Creative Risk Solutions and a member of the leadership team. Her duties involve supervising all events and claims, entry and support for the claim information system known as Riskmaster and offering overall assistance to management.

Darr earned her Associate of Arts degree from Des Moines Area Community College. Her main area of study involved computer science. She has completed numerous courses specializing in software and hardware applications, and specializes in system programs including Access, Sagitta, Excel, Word and various other softwares.

Outside of work, Darr is an active volunteer for her Church, the Ramsey Home, East High School wrestling club and Plaza Lanes Bowling center. She also donates time and effort as an active participant in various charitable organizations through work.

Judith Dye joined Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) in 2005 with over 15 years experience in the workers’ compensation industry. She began her career in a claims department message center in 1990 and was quickly promoted to a medical only adjuster handling claims for Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Mexico. Throughout the years Dye has worked for several insurance companies and TPAs adjudicating claims for dedicated accounts.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is an invaluable asset as well as earning the following designations from the insurance institute of America: Associate in Claims and Associate (AIC) and Associate in Insurance Services (AIS). Dye has also obtained the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation from the International Risk Management Institute.

Outside of work, Dye continues to attend seminars each year for multiple jurisdictions to maintain a high level of knowledge. She is also a member of the Dallas Claims Association and has volunteered for several organizations. Recently, she has enjoyed participating in a program to assist families at a local elementary school delivering gifts, donating school supplies and clothing throughout the year.

Jeanie Moxley holds 21 years of experience in the insurance industry. Her current title at Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) is Senior Claims Administrator and she has been designated to handle workers’ compensation claims through the captive programs.

In the past, she worked with insurance carriers and third party administrators handling accounts with large self-insured retentions. Her work has ranged from claim handling to supervision and management of claim staffs. However, her primary expertise lies in handling workers’ compensation claims.

Moxley is also a licensed adjuster in North Carolina and South Carolina and she has knowledge of multiple jurisdictions. She uses this knowledge to work effectively with vendors/ business partners and to utilize best practices to insure fair and prompt claim handling.

Steve Reutter joined Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) in 1999 and holds 34 years of claim handling experience working for independent claim adjusting companies, stock insurance companies and third party claim administrators. His current title at CRS is AVP of Claims.

A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, he holds his degree in Accounting with a Minor in Economics. Reutter has also completed several courses offered by Vale Tech in the areas of property and physical damage appraising and fire investigation. He has also earned an Associate in Claims (AIC) designation.

Reutter’s main responsibilities include the management of ongoing relationships with fronting carriers, staff development, oversight of large losses, management of individual unit managers and regulatory requirements. In short, he has been largely responsible for building the TPA structure and staff that exists at CRS today and continuously promotes best practices to insure fair and prompt claim handling.

Jenni Eklov has been a Medical Workers’ Compensation Claims Administrator at Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) for over 3 years. Her area of specialization lies in her knowledge of medical only claims nationwide.

On a daily basis, Eklov assists claim professionals, injured workers and employers with multiple aspects of the claim process. Her prompt and accurate filing of state forms, requests for medical records/reports and timely response to internal and external customer requests are a few examples of her responsibilities. Overall, she ensures effective claim advocacy for customers.

Outside of work, Eklov enjoys spending time with her family, home decorating and making fresh flower arrangements.

Stacy Ruggless, Senior Liability Claims Specialist, holds over 13 years of liability claims handling experience. Ruggless has been with Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) for two years. Prior to CRS, he worked with Liability Claims at two other insurance companies.

As a Liability Specialist, Ruggless pro-actively manages the case resolution process. He analyzes, investigates and evaluates the loss to determine adequate coverage and claim disposition. In addition, he analyzes overall claim activities and makes recommendations about the appropriate claim reserve level.

Ruggless is a graduate of Iowa State University. In addition, he earned his Associate in Claims (AIC) designation.

Nancy Lyman Nancy Lyman
Nancy Lyman holds over 31 years of experience in claims management. She specializes in the administration of workers’ compensation claims. Lyman has worked for multiple insurance companies and joined Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) in 2007 as a Sr. Claims Administrator.

Prior to CRS, Lyman gained adjusting and supervisor experience working for an independent claims management provider for 19 years and an insurance conglomerate for 10 years. In addition to experience, Lyman has also earned her Certified Workers Compensation Professional (CWCP) designation.

Outside of work, she’s a marathon volunteer and a parks ‘friend’ volunteer. She enjoys running, biking, beading and spending time with her 10 grandchildren.

Kecia Jones, Workers’ Compensation Claims Administrator, holds over 12 years of claim handling experience. She has worked for Creative Risk Solutions (CRS) for six of those years. Her area of expertise lies in her knowledge of medical only claims nationwide.

On a daily basis, Jones assists claim professionals, injured workers and employers with several aspects of claim management. She assures effective claim advocacy for customers with her prompt and accurate filing of state forms and requests for medical records/reports. Jones’ timely response to internal and external customer requests merits fair outcomes on her client’s behalf. She holds jurisdictional expertise in Oregon, West Virginia and Iowa.

Outside of work, Jones enjoys racing 4-wheelers with her family on their farm and enjoying the outdoors.
